    CNC Milling

Precision engineered component specialists, B & A Precision Engineering Ltd, Preston, are conveniently located just off the M6. We use the latest precision engineering equipment, including manual and CNC milling machines.

We employ state of the art, high-performance CNC milling centres that can perform several different machining processes in one single, accurate operation. We have the capacity for large-scale contracts, but we also offer one-off prototypes and small batch production and deliver across the UK and Europe.

Milling machines can perform vast numbers of complex operations, such as drilling, routing, planing, rebating and may be manually operated, mechanically automated, or digitally automated via computer numerical control (CNC).

With the need for more complex parts, the use of CNC Milling machines allows the production of large quantities of precision components, efficiently and in a reliable repetitive manner with a reduction of errors.

CNC milling machines work by using a computer to send signals back and forth to a stepper motor controller which tells the motor which direction to turn and how many steps to take. Some CNC milling machines use a servo motor instead, which allows metal to be cut at high speeds and, due to a feedback loop, the CNC milling machine always knows its exact position.

Most CNC milling machines are computer controlled vertical mills with the ability to move the spindle vertically along the Z-axis which allows their use in diesinking and engraving applications.

B&A Engineering manufacture engineering components for most industries including motorsport, nuclear, pharmaceutical, diesel engine and food industries and we can deliver anywhere in the UK.
